Exeter Veterinary Hospital

Our mission is to provide the best possible care for your pets. To do this, we set aside extra time with each client, we spend extra time and money on our equipment, testing procedures, quality control, and our cleanliness (a cleaner facility means less odor and bacteria which means lower infection rates). It's the little things that add up to make a big difference in the outcome of many surgical and medical cases. We want the best possible outcome for every pet, so we take the extra care to cover the little things.

We are located at the corner of Perkiomen Avenue (US 422) and Fairlane Drive in Exeter Township, PA. To get to us from the east turn right onto Fairlane Drive. From the west turn left onto Gibraltar Road (at the Arby's), take a right on DeMoss (past the township building) and a right on Fairlane Drive.

We now offer Acupuncture for pets.
Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years. It is often used in conjunction with herbal medicine formulas. According to TCM, health is maintained by the smooth flow of energy called Qi (pronounced "chee"). Qi travels through the body on channels or pathways known as meridians. Disease or ill-health occurs when the flow is slowed or blocked. There are specific points along the meridians where Qi is easily accessed. These are the acupoints. The flow of Qi can be improved through stimulation of these points by either massage (acupressure) or with needles - hence the name acupuncture. Acupuncture is most commonly used to treat painful areas on the body. In veterinary medicine, this usually means back pain and joint pain. Additionally, acupuncture can be used for a variety of internal conditions. Each session usually lasts about 30 minutes. New conditions are normally treated once or twice a week for 4-6 visits. These pets are then seen once a month for maintenance appointments. In that there are no side effects, acupuncture can be used alongside any medications your pet is currently taking.

Dr. Kennedy has been certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society since 1998. He is also a charter member of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture. Please call our office if you think your pet would benefit from veterinary acupuncture. Our staff would be happy to talk with you and answer any questions you may have.
